Questions about Soy Intake in children

With the current interest and trend toward plant-based eating, I often get questions from both parents and health professionals about the role of soy foods in the diets of children. Spoiler alert: Soy foods are a wonderful source of key nutrients for growing children while concerns about soy foods are often fueled by non-scientific misinformation.

In 2019, I worked with the Soy Connection from the United Soybean Board to look into the research on how soy consumption contributes to the health of children. The paper that I wrote answers many commonly asked questions about soy and kids and is also available for continuing education for registered dietitian nutritionists. To access the paper with continuing education quiz, visit the Soy Connection continuing education page.

You can access the full paper here.
